The two players who competed in the final both have never won a Grand Slam. The defeat Stosur is certainly a big disappointment for the seventh seed.

Schiavone in the game was actually more the underdog. Because, Stosur has a match record is better than Schiavone. Stosur on its way to the final overthrow Justine Henin, Serena Williams and Jelena Jankovic.

When Schiavone ensure victory, she immediately rolled over clay. She also kissed the ground which gave her the first degree.
